ITINERARY
Day 1: DBB Pick up at the airport or Cape Town accommodation and transfer to Paarl. Historic ****Guest house accommodation. Guests from nearby can park their vehicles safely at Zomerlust Gastehuis. A Guided Walkabout in Paarl. Evening get together with a Kontrei Traveller brief on our sustainable tourism approach and operations and your guide for meeting your fellow travellers and briefing about the itinerary.
Day 2: DBB We travel via the Swartland and Sandveld to Vredenburg. Visit and participate in fossil hunting at the old Berg River mouth site. Langebaan and Postberg Nature reserve for West Coast flowers and wild life.
Optional extra:
Waterfront Restaurant lunch for local seafood.
Arrive late afternoon at working Guest farm along the Berg River near Veldrift and welcome by the owners. Walkabout on farm. Home cooked dinner.
Day 3: DBB Briefed by your host and guide during breakfast to plan your day according to the latest news on flowers. Add to your sense of place experience by getting to know more about the fishing industry by exploring Veldrift and other West Coast settlements.

Complete your experience enjoying a typical Kontreikos (Local food) dinner prepared by local hosts.
Day 4: DBB Drive through the Sandveld kontrei through Elandsbaai to Lambert's Bay - a stop start excursion along the coastal roads.
Arrive late afternoon on a working West Coast farm. Accommodation is self catering. Therefore no room service but breakfast and dinner included. Walkabout and enjoy the sunset on the farm's private beach. Slow food dinner in the historic farmhouse hosted by your local hostess and women living on the farm.
Day 5: DBB Start with a farm tour and experience heritage sites. Spend time looking for the best spots for flowers.
Included:
- Early morning marine game drive for seals, penguins, gannets and SA's indigenous dolphin
- Visit the local privately owned museum
- A Visit to bird Island at the Lambert's Bay Harbour
Dinner on the farm.
Day 6: DBB Visit a rooibos tea estate with inclusive farm tour on the way to Clanwilliam. Visit a flower nature reserve in Clanwilliam. Follow the N7 to Citrusdal and drive via the high plateau fruit producing Cold Bokkeveld to Ceres and historic Tulbagh. Arrive late afternoon in Paarl. Welcome back!. Enjoy a special farewell dinner with traditional Boland food and wine.
Day 7: B After breakfast you will be transferred to Cape Town or the Cape Town International airport for travelling to your next destination. In the case of an afternoon flight you are invited on a tour of Paarl Mountain for fynbos and 360° vistas over the Boland, Swartland and Fairest Cape regions.
