Word of Mouth!
Recent testimonials from our visitors
Email from France
Hi! SA friends!
I am just a French historian preparing a paper to be read, next July, at PMB campus. Congratulation! You have a very nice and interesting website. It really makes one feel like catching the first aircraft and fly over!
I was last at Saldanha in 2002, when I read a paper at the Military/Navy Academy. I spent there a wonderfull day. I sincerely hope that your country (which, in my heart is also mine) goes better and better again.
Very kind regards.

Letter from London
"I can't express in words how wonderful our stay at Papkuilsfontein was. The only problem was the brevity of our stay, oh how i wished we had booked a whole week..!"

"I had a great time. Did far more than I planned which was no bad thing after such a long journey - it would've been a shame just to sit by the pool for a week! There was possibly too much planned and I'd like to have had more time to do the same amount of stuff, but that was my schedule not yours. The whale trip was the best..."

5 Day Gorilla trekking Safari itinerary in Uganda
Itinerary
DAY ONE:
Depending on the your Arrival at Entebbe Airport you can leave Kampala and head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or if a late arrival, stay at a Kampala hotel. If you wish you can have a city tour.
DAY TWO:
Leave Kampala in the morning and drive south. A first stop over at the Equator; a famous spot for photography. For the rest of the journey, view the long horned Ankole cattle, papyrus, acacia woodland, and terraced landscape of Kigezi highlands on your way to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Lunch en route. Dinner/overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Mantana tented camp or Volcanoes.
DAY THREE:
After an early breakfast and briefing from the guides, set off for the gorilla tracking in the forest sanctuary. Mountain Gorillas are wild animals, as such sightings cannot be guaranteed, however the success rate is well over 90%. Experienced trackers will lead you on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the tracking begins. The gorillas, whose continuous search for food requires a nomadic lifestyle, determine the duration of the hike. The trek can take between one and six hours, sometimes more, at elevations in excess of 7,500 feet and over rough terrain. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is invigorating, and the beauty of the forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. These massive primates are extremely rare, only approximately 650 remaining. When the gorillas are encountered, any fatigue is quickly forgotten. Few who have had this rare privilege would disagree. Each strictly regulated 60-minute visit passes all too quickly, and you depart leaving the gorillas to their fragile existence. Return to your lodge for a late lunch. If your trek was relatively short, you will have the opportunity for a forest walk with a guide or just to relax. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
DAY FOUR:
Have another day of Gorilla Trekking (this is optional). Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
DAY FIVE:
After breakfast, return to Kampala at leisure. Lunch enroute. This will also depend on the time of your flight.
Legend: (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (D) Dinner
Min 2pax, Max 5pax
NB: Plan well ahead for this experience. Book at least 3 months before departure. This is rain forest area, so please come prepared with wet weather gear, hiking boots and elastic bandage!!!

Mr. Denis Kigongo, Founder and Managing Director, trained as a teacher in Uganda at the Institute of Teacher Education, Kyambogo. He subsequently trained as a Youth Worker in Exeter, Devon, UK and now divides his time between the UK and Uganda.
In the year 2000 Denis planned his very first trip to Uganda for a group of youth workers from South West Youth Ministries (SWYM) in England, which marked the beginning of his vision to set up a company in the long run.
This was followed by the first school group of over 40 students and staff, which was tremendous success. Denis has since planned and acted as a guide for both big and small groups of people from a variety of organizations including schools, faith groups, businesses, charities and private individuals.
Denis' intimate knowledge of Uganda (including speaking 8 languages), his understanding of the diversity of local cultures and wild life, and his natural enthusiasm have helped him to market and sell the company. He is a creative and self-motivated person who pays close attention to detail and is calm and well-focused team leader and manager.
Mrs. Lorraine Kigongo, Director, was educated in the UK and has previously worked in computing and office management as well as holding a Diploma in Nursery Nursing. Married to Denis and having lived in Uganda, she shares Denis' commitment and vision of Real Africa Excursions.
