Cape Town to Arniston/Waenhuiskrans, Overberg

ITINERARY
Day 1
Pick up at the airport or accommodation in Cape Town. We travel to the Overberg region (Kontrei) along the scenic False Bay road, through the Kogelbaai Nature Reserve via Hermanus and Gansbaai (known for its Southern Right Whales August to November) to Arniston/Waenhuiskrans near the southernmost point of Africa. The route will take you through the three types of fynbos of the Overberg fynbos route: coastal fynbos, mountain fynbos and a special fynbos area found on the lime stone of an ancient sea floor around Waenhuiskrans. A hearty welcome by your hostess, who will also be your local guide for the next few days. Freshen up for your dinner with local Kassiesbaai hostesses. Lunch en route not included. Overnight at guest house or the local hotel.
Day 2:
A full day guided exploration of the beautiful coastal hamlet of Waenhuiskrans with its endless and lonely beaches, a cave at low tide, and shipwrecks. Watch the local fisherfolk at work. Walk on the southern most tip of Africa. Dinner at a local sense of place restaurant.
