Hi! SA friends!
I am just a French historian preparing a paper to be read, next July, at PMB campus. Congratulation! You have a very nice and interesting website. It really makes one feel like catching the first aircraft and fly over!
I was last at Saldanha in 2002, when I read a paper at the Military/Navy Academy. I spent there a wonderfull day. I sincerely hope that your country (which, in my heart is also mine) goes better and better again.
Very kind regards.

"I can't express in words how wonderful our stay at Papkuilsfontein was. The only problem was the brevity of our stay, oh how i wished we had booked a whole week..!"

"I had a great time. Did far more than I planned which was no bad thing after such a long journey - it would've been a shame just to sit by the pool for a week! There was possibly too much planned and I'd like to have had more time to do the same amount of stuff, but that was my schedule not yours. The whale trip was the best..."

Some of the projects and facilities that we partner with

Bulembu, a town in Swaziland with heart and vision, redefining and rebuilding itself. A town, abandoned by the mining industry and its inhabitants, was left with nothing. In a country ravaged by AIDS, orphans and babies are impacted daily, but a team of entrepreneurs and social developers see potential in Bulembu and the spirit of the Swazi people. Today, Bulembu has a vision to create a totally self-sustaining community, restoring health, education, commerce and providing care for the children. Join this journey and breath life back into the community in Bulembu.

Reilly's Rock Hilltop Lodge within the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary is steeped in intriguing history, encompassing Swaziland and conservation in the Kingdom as well as the family who are behind the Swazi conservation efforts. Rocks were fetched from far and wide to build the Reilly home. By sledge, by wagon and by hand-held stretcher, each rock was carried to the site and placed one upon another using mud as mortar, and so creating the magnificent monument Reilly’s Rock has now become. A British Parliamentarian once remarked that the skill and finish of the old stonework resembled some fo the old stonework of 14th and 15th century in England.

The Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary is also dedicated in teaching wildlife conservation to the children of Swaziland, contrary to their roots of hunting for food.

The Shewula Community are a friendly agricultural people who encourage visitors to their area to enjoy the incredible view, gain an insight into traditional Swazi lifestyles and appreciate the natural splendour fo the Lubombo conservancy. The community still survives the “ubuntu” tradition, in which you are a person only with and through other people. In the community all the families have access to the land and to the other natural resources and this free access is still a good weapon against poverty. But the community has to face the terrible emergency of HIV/AIDS which is threatening its future: since 1997 there are several projects in the community aimed to assist the vulnerable families.

Guidelines For Our Visitors

Taman Tours firmly believes that nobody can guide visitors through a country than someone who is born and bread in that country. Therefore we make use of excellent local guides who are proud to share their history, traditions and love for their country with our visitors.

The genuine kindness and simplicity of life is striking when venturing out into the more remote rural areas, with contentment of life being a very noticeable aspect. The people of Swaziland welcome visitors and gladly share a little of their day-to-day lives. With much understanding of the culture, visitors are well briefed in order to avoid cultural conflicting and uncomfortable situations in order to ensure a memorable visit.

Visitors can be ensured that their holiday directly impacts positively on the lives of the people in the communities we are visiting and the environment around the accommodation facilities we prefer to use.
