West African Winter Special ± March - July
Sail from Saldanha Bay to "Sea Mount Vema" (for some real deep sea fishing) and on towards St Helena Island. We will spend time there to explore.
- Napoleon's last stand, his house and history.
- Sample the local beer and Joshua Shlocom's historical plaque (the first man to sail around the world single handed).
- Paul Kruger believed that the world was flat and did not believe Joshua Shlocom, that he sailed around the world in 1895 and ended up at Durban on the East side of the African continent, where American the starting point of Joshua Shlocom's trip was on the Western side of the African continent. The SA government put Joshua and his old wooden yacht on an ox wagon and sent them to Pretoria so Paul Kruger could see for himself, but he still did not believe the world was round!
Also explore the old Boer concentration camp on St Helena Island.
From St Helena Island we will set sail for the African continent and stop at Luanda (Angola) and explore the coastline and business opportunities. From Luanda we will sail north up the West Coast of Africa until we reach the Congo River. We will enter the estuary of the Congo River and sail up to the jungle and do some eco-research at the local villages on the river banks. There we will turn around, go back out of the Congo River and follow the coast back to Luanda (Angola) and visit some of the fishing towns along the coast back to Namibia and down to Saldanha Bay.
NEEDED: 6 or 7 able bodied men or woman to go on a Eco-adventure of a life time.
The cost will be R25 000 per person.
