ITINERARY
Day 1: DBB Cape Town to Paarl
You will be met at Cape Town International or your accommodation and transferred to Paarl for ****Historic guest house accommodation. Guided Paarl walkabout, traditional Boland food welcome while meeting your fellow travellers and being briefed by Kontrei Traveller on our tourism concept and by the guide on the itinerary.
Day 2: DBB Paarl to Lamberts Bay
We start touring via the Swartland region to Velddrif . Drive through the Sandveld kontrei through Elandsbaai to Lambert's Bay - a stop start excursion along the coastal roads.
Arrive late afternoon on a working West Coast farm. Walkabout and enjoy the sunset on the farm's private beach. Slow food dinner in the historic farmhouse hosted by your local hostess and women living on the farm. Our accommodation is self catering with dinner and breakfast but no room service.
Day 3: DBB Lamberts Bay to Diamond Coast
A long stretch via Namkwaland and along the Namakwaland coast. We start along the coast line to Doringbaai and via Koekenaap irrigation along the Olifants River to Nuwerus on the N7. Closer to Garies we turn West to Groenrivier and from there do 4x4 close to the beach to Spoegrivier. We enter the diamond coast and overnight in authentic accommodation on the rocky sea shore.
Dinner.Traditional food served by local hosts against the seaside backdrop.
Day 4: DBB. Diamond coast to Springbok
Today is a slower and much more experience filled programme.
After an early coffee and rusks light breakfast, a guided tour of the Strandveld flora, dunes and middens will be followed by a hearty brunch on a Namakwaland sheep farm. This goes with a farm tour by the farmer.
Follow the road via Komaggas from sandveld at sea level over Spektakelberg to the high red granite plateau at Springbok - the main town of Namakwaland. Guest House DBB
Our Richtersveld operator will join the group to brief us on the tour. They accompany us in their guide vehicle with safety equipment and do all the catering.
Day 5: LDBB Springbok to Vioolsdrif
Depart after breakfast to the Orange river via Concordia to Henkries. Scenic drives while spotting the first "Halfmens". End at Vioolsdrif for overnight in newly erected chalets.
Day 6: LDBB Vioolsdrif to Sendelingsdrif
We drive alongside the Orange River and then rise to the high plateau via Nababeep Nature Reserve, Eksteensfontein settlement and the Ploegberge to the Orange River crossing at Sendelingsdrif. Overnight in chalets.
Day 7: LDBB Sendelingsdrif to Richtersberg
Through the National Park to Richtersberg via halfmenspas, Akkedispas and Koeroegabvlakte.
Day 8 : LDBB Richtersberg Round trip
Places like Die Toon, Tatasberg and Tatas grave. Quality photographic scenery. Overnight at Richtersberg.
Day 9 : LDBB Rictersberg to Mc Dougallsbaai
We leave the Park via Hottentotsparadys, rare Aloe Pearsonii and on to Alexanderbaai. Along the way to Port Nolloth we visit a bird Sanctuary and overnight at McDougalls Bay close to the beach. Farewell dinner.
Day 10: DBB Mc Dougellsbaai to Kamieskroon
We start our jouney home via the N7 south to Kamieskroon
Day 11: Kamieskroon to Cape Town
We plan to arrive late afternoon (16:00) in Cape Town to catch your flight back home.
The more relaxed Optional Extra: Add on overnight at Zomerlust Gastehuis DBB and transfer on day 12.
