Word of Mouth!
Recent testimonials from our visitors
Email from France
Hi! SA friends!
I am just a French historian preparing a paper to be read, next July, at PMB campus. Congratulation! You have a very nice and interesting website. It really makes one feel like catching the first aircraft and fly over!
I was last at Saldanha in 2002, when I read a paper at the Military/Navy Academy. I spent there a wonderfull day. I sincerely hope that your country (which, in my heart is also mine) goes better and better again.
Very kind regards.

"I can't express in words how wonderful our stay at Papkuilsfontein was. The only problem was the brevity of our stay, oh how i wished we had booked a whole week..!"

"I had a great time. Did far more than I planned which was no bad thing after such a long journey - it would've been a shame just to sit by the pool for a week! There was possibly too much planned and I'd like to have had more time to do the same amount of stuff, but that was my schedule not yours. The whale trip was the best..."

Silent Visitor: There's A Lion On My Stoep
Kliek vir Afrikaans
ZAMBIA - For the past month a large lion has been a regular - though as yet unseen - nighttime visitor at one of Kontrei.co.za's partners, a remote lodge in Zambia.
"So far, we have only been able to identify him by his tracks, nevertheless, night after night he comes into the lodge, unnoticed and silent," says Claudia Behlert of Luangwa Lodge in eastern Zambia.
The lion whose tracks (see picture) indicate a "very large" male, usually makes himself at home by slowly walking from the dining area through the maintenance yard and finally leaving via the staff compound.
Claudia says visitors find it a thrilling experience, and there is nothing to be afraid of, as they stay in closed tents.
"It is the same as if you would be camping inside a National Park. As long as you keep your tent zipped and closed, lions regard it as a structure similar to an open car or a building. Of course there shouldn't be smelly food inside the tent!" she says.
Leaving behind no sign except barking baboons and his tracks, the African lion has everyone at the lodge intrigued and waiting for their first sighting.
The lodge is no stranger to such visitors, and has a "resident" leopard - not a pet but a wild animal, according to Claudia - which sometimes shows up behind the kitchen at the water pond.
"When we see him our visitors find it rather exciting - not frightening! Only our cook once got a shock when the leopard walked through the kitchen - but the leopard was shocked as well and dashed away in a flurry of falling pots and pans," says Claudia.
