Hi! SA friends!
I am just a French historian preparing a paper to be read, next July, at PMB campus. Congratulation! You have a very nice and interesting website. It really makes one feel like catching the first aircraft and fly over!
I was last at Saldanha in 2002, when I read a paper at the Military/Navy Academy. I spent there a wonderfull day. I sincerely hope that your country (which, in my heart is also mine) goes better and better again.
Very kind regards.

Letter from London
"I can't express in words how wonderful our stay at Papkuilsfontein was. The only problem was the brevity of our stay, oh how i wished we had booked a whole week..!"

"I had a great time. Did far more than I planned which was no bad thing after such a long journey - it would've been a shame just to sit by the pool for a week! There was possibly too much planned and I'd like to have had more time to do the same amount of stuff, but that was my schedule not yours. The whale trip was the best..."

Attractions Cape Town South Africa - Astronomy and Wine Tasting at Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse

Optional guided tours leaving from Bartholomeus
Klip Farmhouse: BOOK NOW!

Transfers: (one way and for a maximum of 4 people): Bartholomeus Klip to Cape Town, to the Winelands and to Hermanus. Rates for transfers to specific destinations are available on request. For the ultimate travelling experience and the best way to arrive at Bartholomeus Klip, consider a helicopter transfer from the V&A Waterfront - please e-mail us for details.

Special interest weekends such as astronomy and wine tasting are arranged from time to time. Enquiries and suggestions are welcome.

Wellington: There are several museums in this historic town, as well as the redemption leather factory and the South African Dried Fruit co-operative (SADF). With three local wine cellars (where tastings are free), Wellington is definitely worth a visit. Also well known for its annual SADF marathon held during May.

Tulbagh: After an earthquake in 1969, much of the town was restored and is today a showpiece of Cape Dutch architecture, with one of the oldest museums in the country housed in the Old Church, built in 1743. There are other museums with interesting collectables, as well as four famous wine estates, in the area.

Malmesbury: The main town of the Swartland lies at the centre of one of the country’s most important wheat-producing area. Just outside town, the Swartland Wine Cellar and the Italian Cheese factory offer delicious tastings.

The Bread-and-Wine-Cycling Trail starts and ends in Malmesbury, winding through wheatfields and vineyards, and encompassing the beautiful Riebeeck Valley.

Moorreesburg: The Wheat Industry Museum is one of the only three in the world. Regional dishes can be enjoyed in the farm Ebenaezer. Misverstand Dam attracts thongs of water sports enthusiasts.

Piketberg: Notable especially for three protea export farms, a booming deciduous fruit industry, and Stenebrug, one of the last export table grape farms in the southern hemisphere. A beautiful Gothic church is a prominent landmark.
