REGION: The Boland Kontrei and the Swartland Kontrei

Day 1: Cape Town to Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse - Hermon. DBB
You will be met at your Cape Town accommodation or airport in the Fairest Cape region and arrive in Paarl, one of the oldest towns in South Africa. Paarl is situated in the Berg River valley in a region of the Western Cape Province called the Boland.
The drive through Paarl Main Road, the old high way from Cape Town, inland across the "Mountains of Africa": reflects the history of the Cape by the demonstration of the architectural designs along the long Main Road.
We drive through Wellington today famous for the production of brandy, Wine, and South African Whiskey. We drive through Wellington and Bain's Kloof Pass, completed in 1853 by Andrew Geddes Bain, the engineer who built most of the mountain passes in the Western Cape Province. This one is special because of the use of gun powder for blasting.
Coming out of Bain's Kloof we enter the Breede River Valley en route to Tulbagh. We do a wine tasting on the farm before exploring historical, Cape Dutch architectural center of Tulbagh on foot. Lunch (optional extra) can be enjoyed in Tulbagh, Kerkstraat.
After lunch we drive along the Klein Berg River through the Nuwekloof Pass. The valleys and high mountains make way for the open flat land of the Swartland kontrei, The Western Cape's main wheat producing area.
Arrive mid afternoon at Bartholomeus Klip, a working wheat and sheep farm on the flat section and the private Bartholomeus Klip Game Reserve on the Mountain side. You are hosted in the old restored Farmhouse.
Day 2: Bartholomeus Klip Full Inclusive
After breakfast you can do your first game drive and be enlightened on the conservation of renosterbos and fynbos and the special breeding programme on Burchell's zebra and the buffalos.
Fill your day with relaxing activities like biking, hiking and participate in the sheep farm activities!
Day 3: Via Swartland to Cape Town
After breakfast we explore the Swartland driving to Riebeeck West and visit the only wheat museum in South Africa in the Town of Moorreesburg. You can enjoy lunch (optional extra) at a wine cellar in another Swartland town, the town of Malmesbury.
En route to Cape Town along the Table Bay coast line we visit Blouberg Strand where the final battle to establish the British rule in South Africa took place in January 1806.
Arrive late afternoon in Cape Town.
