Day 1: Cape Town to 138 Marine Guest House. DBB
You will be met at your Cape Town accommodation or airport in the Fairest Cape region and drive through Gordon's Bay along the False Bay coastline, one of the most scenic drives around Cape Town.
Close to Betty's Bay we will be introduced to the Cape coastal fynbos and to a Cape Jackass penguin colony.
Before we come to Kleinmond we will visit a Cape Fynbos Reserve for an interactive experience of mountain fynbos. Lunch can be taken here.
After crossing the Bot River on the way to Hermanus we enter the coastal kontrei of the Overberg known as the Strandveld. The modern name of this region is the Whale Coast. We do the mountain drive using the vista to orientate ourselves about the Hemel en Aarde vallei and the coastline extending to the Southernmost tip of Africa.
Arrive late afternoon at 138 Marine Guest House to settle down and enjoy a guided walkabout of the coastline in front of the house. Dinner either at the guest house or as discussed and arranged with your guide.
Day 2: 138 Marine Guest House DBB
Various experience options: Special wine tastings in the Hemel en Aarde vallei, fynbos hikes along mountain trails or along the Hermanus coast line where whales can be spotted during July to November, horse riding along the coastline or in the mountains, shark diving in Gansbaai and walkabouts and lunch in either Hermanus, Gansbaai or in Stanford where you can enjoy a local beer as well.
Day 3: Hermanus - Cape Town via The southern Tip of Africa
Driving to L'Agulhas is sharing in the shipwreck experience as old as the days of Bartholomew Dias and Vasco da Gama and the Dutch East India Company using the sea route around Africa. After your experience of the Southern tip of Africa, enjoy your lunch at the old Lighthouse and then be enlightened about the shipping saga in the Shipwreck museum in Bredasdorp.
Drive through Caledon and Franschhoek to end of your day with some French flair...
...and arrive late afternoon in Cape Town.
